Intrapericardial diaphragmatic herniation of the stomach is reported in a
patient who had undergone coronary artery bypass surgery 6 years earlier.
The peritoneopericardial defect was iatrogenic and emphasizes the danger of
inadvertent diaphragmatic injury during cardiac surgery.
