Key Words: Atrium Myxoma Thrombus Echocardiography
During operation for suspected myxoma in an 86-year-old man a freely mobile old thrombus 3 cm in diameter was removed from the right atrium. The postoperative course was uneventful and 3 years later the patient is doing well (Figs. 1 and 2)
. The case illustrates the advisability of preparedness for alternative diagnosis in surgery for right-sided atrial myxoma.
