We would like to bring to your notice certain errors in terminology in our article Sternal dehiscence after cardiac surgery and ACE type 1 inhibition [1].
A. ACE type 1 inhibitors as ACE inhibitors.
B. Angiotensin type II receptor, ACE type II and Angiotensin receptor II as Angiotensin II receptor.
The main message of the text is not changed in any way, i.e. the ACE inhibitors can produce troublesome cough post-operatively which can lead to sternal dehiscence as exemplified in our case reports. Under these circumstances it is advisable to switch over to Losartan (Angiotensin II receptor antagonist) which in majority of patients does not have the side effect of cough.
We regret the errors in the original article.
