Aneurysm of the cardiohepatic segment of the inferior vena cava

Three months after a violent road accident, persistent coughing led a 62-year-old woman to computed tomography scan (Fig. 1)
examination followed by magnetic resonance imaging and cavography (Fig. 2)
, which revealed an isolated fusiform aneurysm of supra hepatic inferior vena cava. This lesion is rare and one can discuss the traumatic or the congenital etiology. Surgical treatment is necessary in symptomatic cases.
