Large chest wall abscess due to microaerophilic streptococcus

A 61-year-old man with fever and with an elastic-hard large right back tumor was admitted (Fig. 1) . T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging showed a mass (Fig. 2) . Under ultrasonographic guidance, drainage revealed an abscess containing about 2000 ml of pus, from which microaerophilic streptococcus was isolated, and his fever promptly subsided.
