Key Words: Intrathoracic rib Multidetector CT
A 62-year-old man was admitted with shortness of breath and pleuritic chest pain. MDCT showed a ribbon-like corticated bony structure extending inward from the rib. Intrathoracic rib results from an incomplete fusion between component halves of adjacent sclerotomes during embryogenesis. It is an asymptomatic condition that is usually incidental finding (Figs. 1 and 2).
