Key Words: Becker's dystrophy Heart transplantation Cardiomyopathy
We describe a Becker muscular dystrophy complicated by an end-stage dilated cardiomyopathy (Figs. 1 and 2 ) in a 27-year-old male patient resulting in chronic heart failure. One year after successful transplantation, the patient is fairly well. Heart transplantation increases quality of life in those patients more disabled with cardiac involvement than in those with neuromuscular symptoms.
