Intra-pericardial hydatid cyst seen by dynamic computed tomography

A 26-year-old sheep farmer patient complaining of progressive dyspnea with established diagnosis of intracardiac echinococosis was referred for surgical cyst removal. A dynamic chest CT-scan revealed the cyst was located intrapericardially, compressing left chambers and great vessels (Fig. 1
). The patient underwent elective surgery for cyst removal by a left anterolateral thoracotomy approach (Fig. 2
).
