Video 1 (.rv format). An 80 year-old man who underwent thoracotomy, decortication of empyema and closure of broncho-pleural fistula secondary to necrotizing pneumonia under awake anesthesia. The video shows the patient awake intraoperatively. Immediately after transferring to the recovery room, he started pain free respiratory exercise in the recovery room. (Consent was obtained from the patient for photography, video and publication).

Video 2 (.rv format). A 25 year-old man who underwent left thoracoscopic thymectomy for myasthenia gravis under awake anesthesia. The video shows the patient awake intraoperatively. He can be seen moving himself out of the OR table and waving his hand to the staff on his way to recovery room. He spent 2 hours in the recovery room then he was discharged home. (Consent was obtained from the patient for photography, video and publication).
