Giant mature teratoma of the pericardium

A 44-year-old woman was followed up for 12 years due to the presence of a pericardial mass. Once compression of the right atrium became evident, the patient underwent excision of the giant mass (Fig. 1
) with a thoracotomic approach. Histology revealed a mature cystic teratoma of the pericardium (Fig. 2
).
