Key Words: Chest tube Pleural effusion Iatrogenic injury Pulmonary artery
A 56-year-old man suffered a right pneumonia and homolateral pleural effusion. After chest tube drain, hemothorax through the tube was observed. Insertion of the tube into main pulmonary artery was seen on a CT scan (Figs. 1 and 2
). Reparation of vascular lesions was not feasible; right pneumonectomy was performed via anterolateral right thoracotomy.
