Unilateral double epiphrenic diverticula of the esophagus

A 55-year-old man exhibited pyrosis and recurrent episodes of regurgitation. Barium swallow showed double unilateral epiphrenic diverticula (Fig. 1
). The patient refused an upper digestive endoscopy as well as an esophageal manometry. He was symptomatic with antacid agents and resection of diverticula was performed (right thoracotomy) (Fig. 2
).
