Images in cardio-thoracic surgery

A huge ascending aortic aneurysm bigger than the heart size

A 34-year-old Marfan patient presented with heart failure and renal impairment. CT chest revealed a 13 x 10 cm ascending aortic aneurysm (Fig. 1 ) as the biggest aneurysm ever reported. Echocardiography showed severe aortic regurgitation and left ventricular dilatation. Regular aortic root replacement using a composite graft and coronary implantation was done (Fig. 2 ).
